Ganapati and other Gods in Tibet

Today, India is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, marking the birthday of Lord Ganesh, the sweet son of Shiva and Parvati.

Ganesh is widely worshiped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune and traditionally invoked at the beginning of any new venture.
During the 10th and 11th century, Ganesh 'migrated' in Tibet and could be seen on the walls of the temples of Tholing and Tsaparang in Western Tibet.
The Italian scholar Giuseppe Tucci documented these frescoes in the 1930s.
